Everyone at the SPFL was saddened to learn today of the passing of John Lambie at the age of 77.
A hugely popular and charismatic figure in Scottish football, John played for both Falkirk and St Johnstone.
He began his managerial career with Hamilton Accies in 1984 and had a second stint at Douglas Park. John twice took Accies into the Premier Division and also managed Falkirk but is perhaps best remembered for his time as Partick Thistle boss, which included a number of promotions.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
