Albion Rovers William Hill League Two

Kerr leaves Albion Rovers

Albion Rovers have parted company with manager Brian Kerr and his assistant Stuart Malcolm in the wake of their relegation.

Albion Rovers have parted company with manager Brian Kerr and his assistant Stuart Malcolm in the wake of their relegation.

The former Newcastle and Scotland midfielder was on the coaching staff at the Coatbridge club before taking over as boss from Darren Young last summer.

Kerr was named Ladbrokes League 1 Manager of the Month for September but Rovers’ form fell away in the second half of the season and a run of eight defeats in the last nine matches saw them drop into the bottom tier on the final day.

A statement on the club website said: “Albion Rovers announce that Brian Kerr and Stuart Malcolm have left Cliftonhill after the club’s relegation to League 2. After being offered a revised contract for next season Brian has now decided to pursue his career elsewhere.”
