Rangers completed the League 1 season undefeated but dropped points for only the third time in a 1-1 draw at second-placed Dunfermline on Saturday.
Dean Shiels gave Ally McCoist's side the lead but Lewis Martin equalised with 20 minutes left for the Pars, who now meet Stranraer in the play-offs.
Stranraer sealed third spot after beating Forfar 3-1 at Stair Park with goals from Sean Winter, Scott Rumsby and Frank McKeown. Gavin Swankie had given the visitors the lead after just five minutes.
Ayr United booked their play-off place and will play Cowdenbeath after a 4-1 home win over East Fife. Craig Malcolm bagged a hat-trick and Brian Gilmour added the fourth before Liam Buchanan pulled one back.
Second-bottom East Fife face Clyde in the play-offs but Arbroath are relegated following their 2-0 defeat away to Airdrie. Caolan McAleer and Liam Coogans got the goals for the Diamonds.
Stenhousemuir finished in fifth spot after winning 3-1 at Brechin. John Gemmell scored two penalties and on-loan Ben Greenhalgh sealed the points. Alan Trouten scored City's goal from the spot. Both teams had a player sent off, with Garry Kenneth and Chris Smith seeing red.
