Simon Murray got the only goal with 15 minutes remaining as Allan Moore's men made it six wins out of seven this season.

Second-placed Albion Rovers went down 2-1 at home to East Stirlingshire. Alan Reid opened the scoring but David McKenna and Billy Vidler replied for Shire before the break and Reid saw red in the second half.

East Fife moved into the top four with a 4-0 victory at third-placed Montrose, who had Leighton McIntosh sent off. Fraser Mullen, Ross Brown, Jon McShane and Kevin Smith scored for the visitors.

Queen's Park leapfrogged Berwick Rangers thanks to a 2-0 win at the Excelsior Stadium, Bryan Wharton and Sean Burns scoring in the first half.

Bottom club Clyde drew 1-1 with Annan at Broadwood. Euan Smith had Barry Ferguson's team in front but Peter Weatherson levelled from the penalty spot after the interval.
