East Stirlingshire shocked leaders Queen's Park with a 3-1 win at Ochilview to move five points clear of bottom club Montrose.
Kevin Nisbet, on loan from Partick Thistle, scored twice and David McKenna was also on target for Shire while Vincent Berry replied for the Spiders, who slipped to second spot.
Albion Rovers took over at the top with a 2-0 win away to Berwick Rangers, courtesy of goals from Ross Dunlop and Mark McGuigan.
Arbroath stormed back from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Elgin at Gayfield. A Shane Sutherland double and a Brian Cameron goal had City in command but Paul McManus, Ricky Little and Bobby Linn earned Allan Moore's men a point.
Trialist Derek Riordan scored a last-minute winner as East Fife boosted their play-off hopes with a 2-1 win over Annan at Bayview. Steven Logan gave the visitors the lead but Nathan Austin levelled and Riordan pounced late on.
Clyde beat Montrose 2-0 at Broadwood with an own goal from Garry Wood and a clincher from Scott Ferguson.
