League Cup: Pars shock Dundee

In-form striker Faissal El Bakhtaoui scored in 11 minutes for the Pars but Kane Hemmings equalised early in the second half. Joe Cardle restored Dunfermline's lead with just four minutes left and El Bakhtaoui added a third in stoppage time.

Ross County eased past Ayr United with a 2-0 victory at the Global Energy Stadium thanks to goals early in each half from Liam Boyce and Michael Gardyne.

Hearts overcame Forfar 2-1 after extra time at Station Park, with Callum Paterson grabbing the winner for Robbie Neilson's men. Kevin McHattie gave Hearts the lead but Michael Dunlop levelled with six minutes left. Danny Denholm and Kevin Nicoll saw red as Forfar finished with nine men.

Motherwell survived a big scare against East Fife at Bayview to progress 3-1 after extra time. Nathan Austin gave Gary Naysmith's men the lead but Louis Moult equalised with 10 minutes remaining. Scott McDonald and Lionel Ainsworth won it for Well in the extra half hour.
