Rangers are at home to Inverness CT in a League Cup second-round tie this evening.
Ally McCoist's side knocked out Queen's Park in round one and now face John Hughes' side, with the winners away to Falkirk next Tuesday, September 23.
Rangers go into the game on the back of a 4-0 win at Raith Rovers on Friday while Caley Thistle suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 3-1 to Partick Thistle at Firhill.
Hughes, whose team lost last year's final to Aberdeen on penalties, said: "We were back in on Sunday preparing for the Rangers match. We have to be a bit better than we were on Saturday but it was inevitable we were going to lose at some point."
Inverness CT won 3-0 at Ibrox when the sides met in the quarter-finals of this competition at Ibrox two years ago but McCoist said: "I think we’re a better team than the last time we played them but in cup competitions anything can happen at any time.
"We know what the draw is and the two teams know they have a tie to look forward to if we can get the advantage so there is a real excitement around the dressing room."
