Clyde have named former St Mirren boss Danny Lennon as their new manager following the recent departure of Jim Chapman.

Clyde have named former St Mirren boss Danny Lennon as their new manager following the recent departure of Jim Chapman.

The 48-year-old's first game in charge of the Bully Wee will be Saturday's Scottish Cup third-round tie against East Fife at Broadwood.

Lennon won the League Cup with Saints and has also managed Cowdenbeath and Alloa Athletic, as well as having a short spell at Airdrieonians.

Clyde chairman Norrie Innes told the club website: “Danny, in preparation for his interview, attended the game against Stirling Albion and demonstrated his strong desire for the job by presenting his own detailed match analysis.

“He has a very impressive record and a substantial skill set which is what we need to develop a stronger footballing structure and positive culture within the club. This will be founded on the hard work we have carried out in our commercial and operational areas."
