McCall hoping for final flourish

Rangers boss Stuart McCall hopes his side can continue their good play-off form when they face Motherwell at Ibrox on Thursday night.

Rangers boss Stuart McCall hopes his side can continue their good play-off form when they face Motherwell at Ibrox on Thursday night.

Queen of the South and Hibernian have already been accounted for and the Steelmen now stand between Rangers and a return to the top flight, with the second leg at Fir Park on Sunday.

McCall said: "When we first come in a few months ago, we set the lads a couple of tasks - to make sure we are playing in the last play-off game and to take it as far as we can. The second part is that we want to fulfil that.

"The exciting thing for me is that the team maybe couldn't have envisaged running out in front of a sold-out Ibrox - that's going to be terrific.

"We always want to be positive at home but Motherwell have a good, solid group and they will be doing everything that they can, just like we will be.

"We knew going into the Hibs games that a lot of the players were running on empty and now it's as if they have had a little break and they are refreshed and ready to go which is pleasing."
