Dundee announced on Tuesday evening that they have appointed Neil McCann as their interim manager until the end of the season.
The 42-year-old former Scotland winger had two spells at Dens Park as a player and replaces Paul Hartley, who was relieved of his duties on Monday after a seven-match losing run.
McCann has also previously played for Hearts, Rangers, Southampton and Falkirk and was assistant to Jim Jefferies for a time at Dunfermline Athletic.
His first match in charge of Dundee - who currently occupy the relegation play-off place - will be against Motherwell at Fir Park on Saturday April 29.
