Motherwell manager Mark McGhee has signed 23-year-old midfielder Carl McHugh on a two-year contract from Plymouth Argyle.
The former Republic of Ireland U21 cap arrives at Fir Park after spending the past two seasons at Home Park and has previously played for Reading and Bradford City.
McHugh joins fellow new boys Ben Heneghan (Chester), Richard Tait (Grimsby Town), Jacob Blyth (Leicester City) and Dean Brill (Inverness Caley Thistle) at the club.
McGhee told the Motherwell website: "We are absolutely delighted Carl has agreed to join us, as he had several extremely good offers on the table from various clubs in England, including his previous club.
"Our scouts and I have watched the player for some time now and all the reports we have from others who know him are very positive indeed."
