Livingston manager John McGlynn has left the club by mutual consent after 15 months in charge at the Energy Assets Arena.
The former Raith Rovers and Hearts boss steered the West Lothian side away from the relegation zone in 2013/14 and they finished sixth in the Championship.
This season, Livingston have a Petrofac Training Cup final with Alloa to look forward to but are bottom of the table, although they would be in eighth place had it not been for a five-point deduction due to a breach of SPFL rules.
Player/coach Mark Burchill has been placed in caretaker charge for the time being, with his first game against Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.
McGlynn said: "It is with great regret that we have agreed to part company but I acknowledge that it is a results business and unfortunately, no matter how hard I worked, we could not get the results we all desired.
"I feel it is now time to let someone else come in with plenty of games remaining in the season to turn the club's fortunes around.
"I would like to wish the club every success in the future. I believe they will stay in the league and have a great chance of lifting the Petrofac Training Cup."
Chairman Gordon McDougall said: "The club wish to go on record in stating their appreciation for the work John has carried out under extremely difficult circumstances this season."
