Hearts defender Kevin McHattie has been ruled out for around six weeks with a knee injury.
The left-back was carried off during Saturday's 2-0 home win over Rangers and scans have showed that he has strained his medial ligament.
Head coach Robbie Neilson told the club website: "It is not good news but it is better than we had feared. We knew it was quite a bad one but no surgery is required, though, with rest being needed. He will be in a brace to begin with and will be missing for six weeks.”
