Ross County’s recently-appointed manager Jim McIntyre has added to his backroom staff by bringing in Raith Rovers hero Scott Thomson as the club’s new goalkeeping coach.

The 47-year-old was between the sticks when the Kirkcaldy men defeated Celtic in the League Final in 1994 and also played for Dundee United, Forfar Athletic, Hull City, Motherwell, Airdrie, Dunfermline Athletic and Brechin City before embarking on a coaching career.

Thomson worked at Dunfermline and Dundee United then joined Hibs in 2010 but he left Easter Road in the summer, with McIntyre saying: “Scott was doing some work with Cowdenbeath, where his son Robbie is playing, but he was free to come up and join us which was great.

“He is a very experienced coach and I am delighted to bring him on board.”
