Dundee United boss Jackie McNamara was delighted to lead his side into their first League Cup final since 2008 with a 2-1 win at Hampden.
Holders Aberdeen took the lead through new signing Donervorn Daniels but Callum Morris equalised and Nadir Ciftci grabbed a late winner.
McNamara, who guided the Tannadice club to last season's Scottish Cup final against St Johnstone, said: "It's a great feeling to be in another final.
"Aberdeen scored, from our point of view, a very poor goal but I was delighted by the response. I thought we were the better team in the first half - we had some good chances. The second half wasn't pretty and it could have gone either way."
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: "We didn't play particularly great - I don't think we had enough good performers on the day to win it.
"After going in front for five or 10 minutes we were quite composed but in the build-up to their goal we gave the ball away too loosely."
