Ayr United will welcome back top goalscorer Michael Moffat in the south west derby against Stranraer at Somerset Park after he served his 4 game ban for breaching betting rules.
The Honest Men’s player/ manager Mark Roberts is delighted to see Moffat back after seeing only one goal scored by a striker in his absence.
Ayr had drawn blanks against Rangers, Dunfermline and Airdrie in Moffat’s absence until Craig Malcolm scored in midweek against Forfar.
Defender Martyn Campbell added a second in a 3-2 defeat to leave Roberts saying: “We have our top striker back and I am delighted as we have struggled for goals in his absence. Michael has scored more than half of our goals this season and I hoped that someone would rise to the challenge of replacing him but it never happened.”
“It is good to have him back as he will get goals in the race for the play-offs.”
