Morton knocked Championship rivals Dundee United out of the Betfred Cup to reach their first semi-final in this competition since 1979/80.

First-half goals from Jai Quitongo and Thomas O'Ware had Jim Duffy's men in command at Cappielow and they held on for a memorable 2-1 win despite Nick van der Velden pulling one back for Ray McKinnon's team early in the second period.

Morton will be joined in Thursday night's last-four draw - to be made live on BT Sport - by Rangers, who saw off Queen of the South 5-0 at Ibrox.

Jason Holt had Mark Warburton's men ahead at the interval, Andy Halliday added the second in 62 minutes then Martyn Waghorn weighed in with a hat-trick against the Championship leaders.
