Motherwell beat Rangers 3-1 in the first leg of the Scottish Premiership play-off final at Ibrox on Thursday night.
Stuart McCall's side started well but it was the visitors who went ahead in 27 minutes when Lee Erwin cut in and found the net with a shot that went in off Darren McGregor.
Defender Stephen McManus headed home a free-kick five minutes before the break and Ian Baraclough's men struck again just after half-time when Lionel Ainsworth drilled the ball beyond keeper Cammy Bell at the end of a quick break.
McGregor pulled one back with a header from a corner eight minutes from time but the hosts were unable to conjure up another goal despite some late pressure as Motherwell beat Rangers for the first time since December 2002.
The second leg takes place at Fir Park on Sunday, live on BT Sport with a 3.00pm kick-off.
