Motherwell officially unveiled new manager Ian Baraclough on Monday.

Motherwell officially unveiled new manager Ian Baraclough on Monday.

The former Sligo Rovers boss was appointed as Stuart McCall's successor on Saturday and watched the 2-2 Fir Park draw against Ross County from the stand.

Baraclough took his first training session at Dalziel Park this morning and will be in the dug-out for Saturday's vital game against bottom club St Mirren in Paisley.

The 44-year-old, who is hoping to retain Kenny Black as his assistant, said: "In the short term we've got to make sure we're playing Premier League football next season.

“In the long term it's to carry on the development of players and get as high as possible in the league and achieve European football again.

"I'd like the players to play in an exciting fashion, full of energy, positive, going forward and expressing themselves."
