Motherwell kept alive their hopes of avoiding the relegation play-off with a 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Fir Park on Friday night.
The result moves Ian Baraclough's side to within three points of Killie and Ross County, who on Saturday face a St Mirren side whose relegation to the Championship has now been confirmed.
Scott McDonald gave Motherwell the lead from close range after 28 minutes and Lee Erwin doubled their advantage before half-time.
Josh Magennis bundled the ball home early in the second half to give Gary Locke's men hope but Lionel Ainsworth's last-minute goal sealed a crucial win for Motherwell and condemned Kilmarnock to a seventh straight defeat.
