Three games take place on Friday July 15, including the meeting of Arbroath and Dundee United at Gayfield, which is live on BT Sport at 7.45pm.

Holders Ross County begin the defence of the trophy they won against Hibernian at Hampden in March with a trip to Montrose on Saturday July 16.

The all-Premiership clash of Motherwell and Rangers at Fir Park - live on BT Sport on July 16 at 3.00pm - is among the highlights on matchday 1, with St Johnstone, who finished fourth in the table last season, kicking off away to Elgin City.

There are eight sections of five teams - the winners and four best runners-up will be joined in the last 16 on August 9/10 by Celtic, Aberdeen, Heart of Midlothian and Hibernian.

This season’s Betfred Cup final will be played on Sunday November 27.
