Montrose have appointed Stewart Petrie as their new manager following the recent departure of Paul Hegarty.
The Links Park club slipped to the foot of the Ladbrokes League 2 table on Saturday when they lost 4-1 at Elgin but they are only three points behind fifth-placed Annan in a tight division.
Former Dunfermline player Petrie, 46, makes the move from Broughty Athletic, where he was assistant manager - a post he previously held at both Forfar and Arbroath.
Chairman John Crawford said: "We are delighted to secure the services of Stewart at this very important time. He is highly-motivated and enthusiastic, comes with a wealth of playing and coaching experience and, most importantly, understands the lower leagues of Scottish football."
