The regional split of teams has been confirmed ahead of next Monday's Petrofac Training Cup draw, which takes place at St Mirren Park at 2.30pm.
The 30 clubs competing in the Ladbrokes Championship, Ladbrokes League 1 and Ladbrokes League 2 in 2015/16 will be joined in the hat by Highland League champions Brora Rangers and Lowland League winners Edinburgh City.
First-round ties are scheduled for Saturday July 25, with the second round - which is also regionalised - on the midweek of August 18/19.
Livingston are the holders of the competition, having beaten Alloa Athletic 4-1 at McDiarmid Park in the 2014/15 final in April.
