There are five midweek games in the Scottish Premiership, with plenty at stake as the split approaches later this month.

Hamilton Accies and Kilmarnock are the only teams who don’t play, having already brought forward their fixture to a free Saturday in February.

Motherwell v St Mirren - Tuesday, 7.45pm (BT Sport)
It’s a huge game for both teams, with Saints seven points below second-bottom Motherwell at the foot of the table. St Mirren were beaten 2-0 by leaders Celtic on Friday night while Ian Baraclough’s men ran out 2-1 winners at Rugby Park on Saturday. Well have won both previous meetings this season by a single goal.

Ross County v St Johnstone - Tuesday, 7.45pm
County have been on a superb run of form of late and made it six wins and a draw in their last seven games with a 2-1 victory at Tannadice on Saturday. St Johnstone drew 1-1 at Hamilton but still have work to do as they seek another top-six finish. Saints have won all three meetings in 2014/15 (two Premiership and one Scottish Cup) by a 2-1 margin.

Aberdeen v Inverness CT - Wednesday, 7.45pm
It’s second against third at Pittodrie and both clubs should have Europa League football to look forward to in July. The Dons were held to a 0-0 draw by Partick Thistle at the weekend while Caley Thistle also shared the spoils in a 1-1 home draw with Dundee. Aberdeen have held the upper hand this term, claiming 3-2 and 1-0 victories.

Celtic v Partick Thistle - Wednesday, 7.45pm
Celtic go into the match with a seven-point advantage at the summit following their 2-0 win in Paisley on Friday with Thistle in ninth place, seven points clear of the relegation play-offs. Celtic have triumphed 1-0 and 3-0 in the two Premiership encounters this season and also won 6-0 in a League Cup tie.

Dundee v Dundee United - Wednesday, 7.45pm (Sky Sports)
Dundee are just two points outside the top six after Saturday’s 1-1 draw in Inverness while United remain fourth despite failing to win in the Premiership since January. Jackie McNamara’s men have dominated the derby fixture this season, winning 4-1 and 6-2 in the league and also knocking Paul Hartley’s team out of the League Cup.
