John Sutton scored the only goal as Motherwell beat Hearts 1-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday to move back to within a point of second-placed Aberdeen.

Sutton struck five minutes before the interval against his former club at Tynecastle as Stuart McCall's men made it six wins in a row.

Murray Davidson and Stevie May were on target as St Johnstone defeated St Mirren 2-0 at McDiarmid Park to move back into the top six.

Partick Thistle remain a point ahead of Ross County but are still without a home win after the sides drew 3-3 at Firhill. On-loan Cardiff midfielder Filip Kiss scored twice on his debut, with Ben Gordon also on target for the Staggies.

Lyle Taylor, on loan from Sheffield United, bagged a double for the Jags, whose other goal came from Steven Lawless. Stuart Kettlewell was sent off for the visitors late on.

Inverness CT entertain Dundee United on Sunday, live on Sky Sports at 12.45pm.
