Queen of the South boss James Fowler has completed the signings of Kyle Hutton and Paul Heffernan on short-term deals until January.
Hutton, 24, is a former Scotland U21 midfielder who arrives from Rangers and has previously played on loan for both Partick Thistle and Dunfermline Athletic.
Heffernan, 33, is a striker who spent the second half of last season with Dundee and has also played for Notts County, Bristol City, Doncaster Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday and Kilmarnock.
Queen of the South travel to Almondvale in the Ladbrokes Championship on Saturday, having kicked off their campaign with a 3-1 home win over Alloa.
