Queen of the South’s recently appointed Manager Jim McIntyre has made his first signing for the club by bringing in centre half Andy Dowie.
The former Rangers, Stranraer, Ross County and Partick Thistle stopper is well known to his new boss, who was only appointed last week, as he was a Dunfermline player when McIntyre was in charge at East End Park.
Dowie was made redundant by the Pars in March and signed a short term deal with the Jags and helped them over the finishing line in the race for the First Division title before being released at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old was training with Dumbarton last week, however he will team up with McIntyre and his new team-mates this week.
