Goals in the closing stages from Lewis Macleod and Nicky Clark earned Rangers a 2-0 win away to Falkirk on Friday night.

Ally McCoist's men were pushed all the way by Peter Houston's side but took the lead in 78 minutes when Macleod's deflected effort beat keeper Jamie MacDonald.

Substitute Nicky Clark forced the ball home from close range following a corner six minutes later to seal victory on the second weekend of the Scottish Championship.

Both sides are back in action early next week in the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup - Rangers are at home to Clyde on Monday and Falkirk travel to Dunfermline on Tuesday.
