Rangers have signed experienced defender Clint Hill on a one-year deal following his departure from Queens Park Rangers.

The 37-year-old began his career at Tranmere Rovers and has also played for Oldham Athletic, Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

He joins fellow new recruits Josh Windass (Accrington Stanley), Matt Crooks (Accrington Stanley), Jordan Rossiter (Liverpool) and Joey Barton (Burnley) at Ibrox.

Hill told the Rangers website: "It's a massive challenge, probably one of the biggest in my career. Obviously I know there might be a few doubts about the signing and I can understand that.

“But I’ve managed to do that throughout my career - I’ve been to lot of clubs where people have doubted the signing and I’ve had to prove them wrong. Hopefully I can do that here."
