Rangers have the chance to close the gap on Championship leaders Hearts to four points when they travel to Cowdenbeath on Tuesday night.
The Central Park clash was due to be played on October 11 but was postponed due to international call-ups and the midweek fixture is the first encounter between the teams on league business since 1970/71.
Both clubs go into the game on the back of Scottish Cup victories on Saturday - Rangers won 1-0 at Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath beat Forfar 3-1 at Station Park.
Jimmy Nicholl's men are bottom of the table but beat Queen of the South 2-1 in their most recent home fixture and a draw would move them above Alloa.
Ally McCoist's team have won four out of five on the road in the Championship and the only goal they have conceded was in a 1-1 draw at Alloa.
