Harry Forrester gave Mark Warburton's men a half-time lead and Lee Wallace sealed the victory early in the second half.

Second-placed Hibernian suffered a third straight defeat as Queen of the South boosted their play-off hopes with a 1-0 win at Palmerston - Andy Murdoch got the only goal for James Fowler's men with 12 minutes left.

Falkirk are now just a point behind Hibs after a 0-0 draw at St Mirren and it also finished 0-0 between Livingston and Morton.
