Ayr United have parted company with manager Mark Roberts in the wake of Saturday's 3-2 home defeat to Stenhousemuir.
Roberts was the fifth-longest serving boss in the SPFL, having been in charge since May 2012, but Ayr have struggled despite a good start to the season and have slipped to ninth in the table.
The 39-year-old was League 1 Manager of the Month in August but the Honest Men host bottom club Stirling Albion this weekend after losing eight of their last nine league games.
A statement on the Ayr United website read: "At a specially convened board meeting today, the club have released Mark Roberts with immediate effect.
"In doing so, the club would like to express their appreciations towards Mark. He has been with the club for six years as a player and manager and the club, board and chairman would like to wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
