Aberdeen edged out Ladbrokes Premiership rivals St Johnstone 1-0 in a friendly match played at Brechin's Glebe Park on Sunday.
The only goal came in 71 minutes when Adam Rooney beat Alan Mannus from the penalty spot after Niall McGinn had been brought down in the box.
Both clubs return to competitive action this week in the Europa League qualifiers - Saints are heading to Armenia and the Dons go to Macedonia.
