Experienced striker Iain Russell has returned to the SPFL with Dumbarton on a deal until the end of the current season.
The 35-year-old, who left the Sons in 2007, was most recently with Airdrieonians but announced last summer that he was retiring from football only to now reverse his decision.
Dumbarton boss Stevie Aitken told the club website: “We tried to sign Iain last season but he chose to stay full-time. Despite not playing for anybody in the first half of the season he has kept himself fit and has been training with us and still has a strong appetite for the game. He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game with St Mirren.”
