St Mirren boss Ian Murray has completed the signing of ex-Scotland defender Andy Webster on a one-year deal with an option for another 12 months.
The 33-year-old began his career at Arbroath and has also played for Hearts, Wigan Athletic, Rangers, Bristol City and, most recently, Coventry City.
Murray told the club website: "To finally get him is good news for us. The way Andy goes about his training, and the way he plays the game, will be huge for us.
“Andy is an out-and-out centre-half – he will certainly organise players and he’s a fantastic player for Sean (Kelly) and Jack (Baird) to learn off. He will help them enormously."
Webster and fellow new signing Lawrence Shankland - on loan from Aberdeen - could make their debuts in Saturday's Ladbrokes Championship game at home to Livingston.
