St Mirren earned a vital 3-2 win over Dundee United at the Paisley 2021 Stadium in the Ladbrokes Championship on Wednesday night.
The result means Saints are now just one point behind second-bottom Ayr United in the battle to avoid the drop while United stay fourth.
Harry Davis gave Jack Ross' team a second-minute lead but Tony Andreu equalised, only for Stevie Mallan to make it 2-1 before the break.
Lewis Morgan added a third goal for St Mirren on the hour mark and they held on despite Andreu pulling one back 10 minutes later.
In Ladbrokes League 2, Edinburgh City and Berwick Rangers both picked up a welcome point in a 2-2 draw at Meadowbank Stadium.
Greg Rutherford's opener for Berwick was overturned by goals from Derek Riordan and Dougie Gair but Steven Thomson grabbed the equaliser.
