Dundee United and Aberdeen meet in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup, presented by QTS, at Hampden on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.
Team news: Former Hearts defender Ryan McGowan could make his debut for Dundee United but Keith Watson has moved on loan to Hibernian and John Souttar and Mario Bilate remain on the injury list. Aberdeen this week signed defender Donervorn Daniels on loan from West Brom and he is set to be added to the squad, with Ash Taylor ruled out.
This season: Dundee United won 3-0 at Pittodrie on the opening weekend of the season while Aberdeen responded with a 2-0 victory at Tannadice in December.
Road to Hampden: Dundee United defeated Dundee 1-0 with a last-minute goal from Jaroslaw Fojut before beating Hibernian 7-6 on penalties in the quarter-finals after a 3-3 draw at Easter Road. Aberdeen saw off Livingston 4-0, helped by an Adam Rooney hat-trick, and Rooney got the only goal in the last-eight meeting with Hamilton Accies.
League Cup pedigree: Aberdeen are the current holders and have won the League Cup on six occasions, beating Inverness Caley Thistle on penalties at Celtic Park in March. Dundee United have twice lifted the trophy - in 1979/80 and 1980/81.
Past League Cup meetings: The last five meetings in this competition have all come at the semi-final stage, most recently in February 2008 when Dundee United won 4-1 at Tynecastle. United were 3-1 winners in 1997/98 while Aberdeen triumphed 2-0 in 1988/89 and 1-0 in 1999/00 and also prevailed over two legs in 1985/86. United's first ever major trophy win was in 1979/80 when they beat the Dons 3-0 in the League Cup final replay after a 0-0 draw.
Semi-finals: Aberdeen beat St Johnstone 4-0 at Tynecastle 12 months ago. Dundee United are in their first League Cup semi-final since 2008/09, when they lost 11-10 in a marathon penalty shoot-out after a 0-0 draw against Celtic.
