East Stirlingshire defeated Arbroath 1-0 at Gayfield on Wednesday evening to move eight points clear of bottom club Montrose in League 2.
Ross Gilmour scored the only goal with 18 minutes remaining as Craig Tully's men, who beat Queen's Park 3-1 on Saturday, made it four wins in five games.
A home victory would have taken Arbroath to the top of the table but Allan Moore's side have now failed to win any of their nine matches in 2015.
