Holders St Johnstone begin the defence of their trophy with a home game against a Ross County side they defeated 2-1 on Saturday, in what is one of five all-Premiership ties.

Dundee face Aberdeen at Dens Park – live on BBC Scotland with a 12.15pm kick-off – while St Mirren welcome Inverness Caley Thistle, who are second in the table, to Paisley.

Partick Thistle meet Hamilton Accies at Firhill and Motherwell are up against Dundee United at Fir Park, bidding for a repeat of their recent 1-0 victory over Jackie McNamara’s side.

There are two all-Championship ties – Falkirk are at home to a Cowdenbeath team they knocked out the League Cup on penalties and Alloa have home advantage against a Hibernian side they beat 2-1 at the Indodrill Stadium back in August.

On Sunday, unbeaten Championship leaders Hearts welcome Premiership frontrunners Celtic to Tynecastle seeking revenge for a League Cup exit at Parkhead earlier this season – the capital clash is live on Sky Sports with a 3.15pm kick-off.

Earlier in the day, Rangers go up against Kilmarnock at Ibrox, live on Sky Sports at 12.45pm. Ally McCoist’s men have already beaten Premiership opposition in the League Cup while Killie are aiming to get back on track after some disappointing recent results in the league.
