St Johnstone are top of the SPFL Development League after beating Hamilton Accies 4-3 at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday evening.

Christian Nade's double had Accies in command but four goals in the space of seven minutes either side of the interval from Liam Caddis, Connor McLaren (2) and Neil Martynuik turned things round before Daniel Armstrong pulled one back.

Reigning champions Aberdeen also made it two wins out of two, beating Motherwell 2-1 at the Excelsior Stadium thanks to a Lawrence Shankland double after David Clarkson had opened the scoring for the Steelmen.

Inverness CT defeated Dundee 3-1 at Grant Street Park. Calum Ferguson scored twice and a trialist was also on target for Caley Thistle. Josh Skelly netted for Dundee.

In Tuesday's other game it ended 1-1 between Dundee United and Ross County at Glebe Park. Stewart Murdoch gave the Staggies the lead but Ali Coote - who recently signed a new contract at Tannadice - levelled late on.

Celtic kicked off their campaign with a 3-0 win over Partick Thistle at Cappielow on Monday. Aidan Nesbitt scored twice and Regan Hendry was also on target.

Also on Monday, Hearts and Kilmarnock drew 0-0 at Ochilview.
