Elgin City striker Craig Gunn has been in good form of late to keep Jim Weir’s men in with a shout of making the play-offs in League 2.
We caught up with Craig to find out more about his career highlights in SPFL Spotlight.
What is the best goal you have ever scored?
That came earlier this season in a 1-0 win over East Fife at our place. Marvin Andrews played a long ball forward with about 20 minutes to go and I got in behind their defence, brought it down with one touch and then flicked it over their goalkeeper as he came out.
What is the best game you have played in?
The first time I played at Ibrox against Rangers in the season we were in the same division. We lost 5-1 but were winning at one stage and it was a huge crowd to play in front of. We went back later in the season and got a 1-1 draw but the first game was memorable due to the atmosphere.
What is your favourite away ground?
I have played at Hampden Park a few times against Queen’s Park and scored a good few goals there. To do that at such a famous ground is terrific.
What is your favourite other sport?
I am not big into other sports and, unlike a lot of other footballers, I do not like golf as I do not have the patience for it. I will plump for darts as I will watch that if it is on.
Which player in the world would you bring to Elgin City?
A player I really admired when I was growing up was Henrik Larsson at Celtic and I would have loved playing alongside him.
What is your favourite pre-match meal?
I am a chicken, pasta and beans guy.
What is your favourite music?
I like some R & B tunes – Craig Thomson, who is on loan from St Johnstone, does the music for the players and his choices have been pretty decent. So decent that he has not been substituted yet!
Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
Mark Nicolson was a moaner when we first started playing together at Elgin nearly six years ago and he is still a moaner now. A good player but a moaner!
Who has been your most skilful team-mate?
Michael Gardyne, who was a team-mate of mine at Ross County. He is a terrific player and he has really helped turn County’s season around since going back there on loan.
Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
Daniel Moore, who wears a lot of dodgy stuff. Clothes that are so skin tight they look to be spray-painted on are not a good look!
Who is the best trainer at the club?
Brian ‘Soapy’ Cameron, who has also been at the club for a few years. He works hard at his game and deserves this award.
Who is the best dancer?!
That is a really good question as there are not too many good dancers at Elgin just now! I will go for my former Ross County team-mate – Martin ‘Jimmy’ Scott, who always had loads of moves.
