Declan McManus started this season playing in Europe for Aberdeen and has since earned Scotland U21 honours and scored 16 goals on loan at Morton.
He helped fire Jim Duffy’s side to the top of the League 1 table on Tuesday night and is the latest player to fall under the SPFL Spotlight.
What’s the best goal you have ever scored?
My best goal was for Aberdeen in an U20 game against Motherwell three seasons ago. I picked up the ball in my own area and just started heading up the pitch. I darted along the wing then cut inside a defender before sending a shot past their goalkeeper from 15 yards.
What is the best game you have played in?
That was for Morton when we defeated Dunfermline 2-1 at Cappielow in September. I scored but what made it special was the performance, as it was the best we have played all season. I also scored a last-minute winner at East End Park the following month and that was special as well.
What is your favourite away ground?
I enjoyed my appearance for Aberdeen at Celtic Park last season as there was a big crowd and it is the best ground I have played at.
What is your favourite other sport?
I play golf now and again although I have to admit that I am not the best at it.
Which player in the world would you bring to Morton?
That would have to be Cristiano Ronaldo. In my opinion he is better than Messi and can win games all by himself. He can also score all types of goal and I would enjoy playing beside him at Cappielow.
What is your favourite pre-match meal?
I usually have chicken, pasta and beans and that was the same in midweek for the Stirling game.
What is your favourite music?
I like Rap music but it is Sean Crighton who does the tunes for the dressing room. To be fair to him, he does cater well for a wide variety of tastes!
Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
The Icelandic midfielder who was at Aberdeen - Kari Arnason. A really good player but there was always an argument with him and he could be the angriest guy on the planet!
Who has been your most skilful team-mate?
Sone Aluko at Aberdeen, who had incredibly quick feet and a frightening burst of pace.
Who has been your worst dressed team-mate?
That has to go to Joe Shaughnessy of Aberdeen. He still dresses like a student.
Who is the best trainer you have played with?
Nicky Low, who is always really hard working in training up at Pittodrie. He has missed a few games recently with an injury but will bounce back as he is a really good player.
And the best dancer?!
That has to go to one of the Morton boys – Lee Kilday.
