Slovenia internationalist Haris Vuckic has been a stand-out for Rangers in the opening months of his loan spell from Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old has scored seven times in his last nine games and is a key player as Stuart McCall’s men aim for promotion via the play-offs.

What is the best goal you have ever scored?
My best was my first ever goal for Newcastle United, which came in a Europa League tie against Greek side Atromitos in August 2012. I had come on as a substitute for Ryan Taylor, who had scored in the first leg that finished 1-1, and I shot first time from 25 yards after the ball was given to me at a throw-in. It took a slight deflection but it was going in anyway - it was the goal that won the tie 1-0 and sent Newcastle through to the group stage.

What is the best game you have played in?
I have two that stand out for Newcastle, with one being against Liverpool at Anfield when I was just 19. To stand in the tunnel next to Steven Gerrard was special and I will remember that game for a very long time. As for the result, all I will say is that it was 1-1 when I came off 20 minutes from time!
I was also part of a Newcastle team that defeated Chelsea 4-3 at Stamford Bridge in a Carling Cup tie. That was really special as Newcastle had not won at that ground for a very long time.

What is your favourite away ground?
So far it has been Manchester United’s Old Trafford. I have played there twice and both times they were amazing experiences - it really is the Theatre of Dreams.

What is your favourite other sport?
I like basketball and my father is disappointed I am not a basketball player. He was a player and when I was a kid he wanted my older brother and I to be basketball players. He would throw the ball to us but we would catch it and put it on the ground and kick it to each other. That kicking worked well as my brother Alen is a defender who plays for Krka in Slovenia.

Which player in the world would you like to have played with?
Zinedine Zidane, who was a fabulous midfielder when I was growing up. He was always two, and sometimes three, steps ahead of the other players on the park.

What is your favourite pre-match meal?
The usual meal for players, which is pasta and chicken.

What is your favourite music?
I listen to Balkan music more than anything else. I have not listened to much Scottish music since I came to Glasgow.  I must admit I like the street buskers here - they are all a really good standard!

Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
There have been a few but I’ll say Joey Barton!

Who has been your most skilful team-mate?
That is a tough one but I will go for Gael Bigirimana, who is with me at Newcastle and Rangers. He has tricks in his feet and just edges ahead of me for this award!

Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
Goalkeeper Rob Elliot at Newcastle. Everybody talks about how bad his clothes are!

Who is the best trainer?
Cheick Tioté, who warms up so hard that the sweat is dripping from his face. He gives everything 100% and is a really hard-working player who has great determination.

Who is the best dancer?!
Gaël Bigirimana - and he won tickets to a Formula One race to prove it! We were in pre-season in Munich and our manager Alan Pardew was offered tickets to a race if the players entered a dance competition. Gael was put in and he won it - in fact, he won it so well that he got the tickets and not Alan Pardew!
