Alloa took a big step towards reaching the Championship play-off final with a 2-0 win at Brechin on Wednesday night.
Mark Docherty has been a key player for the Wasps this season and will be hoping to help them complete the job at the Indodrill Stadium on Saturday.
What is the best goal you have ever scored?
That would be the one at Cowdenbeath this season in a game that was massive for us. We really needed a win and I helped us get one with a volley from 25 yards. I was pipped for our Goal of the Season award by Kevin Cawley, who scored a fantastic goal against Dumbarton recently.
What is the best game you have played in?
Our 3-2 Petrofac Training Cup semi-final comeback win over Rangers. We were 2-0 down and, while you never give up, I don’t think anyone thought we could get back into the game. We showed a lot of character and it was a great feeling to get it back to 2-2 and an even better feeling when Greig Spence scored the last-minute winner.
What is your favourite away ground?
I will go for Tynecastle, which may surprise a few people as I was sent off there recently! The fans are right on top of you, and I took a lot of stick, but it was a terrific atmosphere.
What is your favourite other sport?
I am a big boxing fan and did quite a bit of boxing when I was younger. I watched the big fight last weekend but I watched it the next day as winning the game to stay up against Cowdenbeath had taken a lot out of me!
Which player in the world would you like to have played with?
Present day I would say Lionel Messi but if I selected from any time I would pick Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone. I have watched DVDs and seen how good he was but it would have been fantastic to play with him and see close up just how amazing a player Jimmy was.
What is your favourite pre-match meal?
Like a lot of players, I have a nutritional shake along with some Weetabix at the start of a match day. I will usually follow that up with some chicken, pasta and beans.
What is your favourite music?
The only type of music I like is power ballads, which gets me some stick! Michael Doyle does the music at Alloa but he was so bad we got Phil Roberts in to DJ for a while - unfortunately he was not much better.
Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
There have been a few and at Alloa I would say it is Stephen Simmons, who is one of the best I have ever known. Overall, it’s Scott Robertson at Stranraer – he moans that much he falls out with himself!
Who is your most skilful team-mate?
When Andy Stirling was a kid at St Mirren he used to be invited into the first-team changing room to do a skill school. Michael Chopra has something about him as well, as his two goals in two games would indicate.
Who is your worst dressed team-mate?
There are a few at Alloa, with Greig Spence and Michael Doyle not getting any better with age. The winner is Iain Flannigan, who dresses like a college kid from America!
Who is the best trainer you have played with?
Andy Millen was brilliant and nothing was done at less than 100%. He worked hard at training, which was some feat as he was assistant manager at St Mirren at the time.
And the best dancer?!
Eddie Ferns likes a dance and I wish I had his moves. I am not as good, but make up for it in other areas!
Craig Stewart
