Dundee United attacker Ryan Dow, who recently had surgery, will be back for the first day of pre-season training even if their holidays are cut short.
Dow saw a specialist last week after having an operation on a double hernia and got the all clear to start ramping things up and will be ready for an early return should Jackie McNamara’s side qualify for the Europa League.
The 23-year-old is the latest player to go under the SPFL Spotlight.
What is the best goal you have ever scored?
That came during my loan spell at Forfar, against Stenhousemuir back in April 2011. The ball was thrown out to me by our goalkeeper and everything just opened up. I headed for the other goal and played a one-two before curling a shot home from 18 yards out.
What is the best game you have played in?
This season’s League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden. I came off the bench when we were a goal down and we ended up winning 2-1. The feeling of helping the boys turn things round was terrific.
What is your favourite away ground?
The National Stadium at Hampden. The semi-final was a brilliant day for us - the final was not so good but it was great to play at such a historic venue.
What is your favourite other sport?
I quite like golf but in a watching only role and I quite like boxing as well, on a similar basis!
Which player in the world would you like to play alongside?
It has to be Lionel Messi. He is unbelievable and the greatest player ever.
What is your favourite pre-match meal?
That would be chicken, scrambled egg and beans.
What is your favourite music?
I am not that big into music and it is Nadir Ciftci who does the tunes for the players. He brings his iPad in and most of the stuff is OK - the rest I just go along with. Game music is usually upbeat and he does a good job with that.
Who is the biggest moaner you have played with?
Willo Flood was just constant with his moaning, whether it be in games or training. A great player but he likes a moan.
Who has been your most skilful team-mate?
Gary Mackay-Steven is a bit special and Danny Swanson is decent as well – I will go for Gary.
Who is your worst-dressed team-mate?
Keith Watson – he has taken his style to Edinburgh during his loan spell at Hibs and the people there can deal with his clothes sense!
Who is the best trainer at Tannadice?
John Rankin always puts everything into training and games.
Best dancer you have played with?!
I am not sure if Gavin Gunning is what you would call the best dancer but he is certainly the most energetic!
Craig Stewart
