Craig Fowler selects his latest SPFL Team of the Week, with Aberdeen striker Adam Rooney the star man for his hat-trick against St Johnstone.

GK - David Mitchell (Falkirk)
Given the nod ahead of Robbie Thomson, Mitchell put in a strong showing between the sticks as Falkirk recorded their first league victory of the campaign under interim boss Alex Smith, beating Morton 1-0 at Cappielow.

DC - Kerr Waddell (Dundee)
You cannot argue with two goals, his first in senior football, including a 93rd-minute winner. The young centre-back topped off an impressive performance to head Paul McGowan's cross past Hearts keeper Jon McLaughlin as Dundee won 2-1 at Dens Park.

DC - Peter Hartley (Motherwell)
Another goalscoring centre-back, this one of the Lanarkshire variety. Leading the Motherwell back three, Hartley was the epitome of cool in his defensive duties, while his seventh-minute goal put his side on the road to a 3-0 victory over Partick Thistle.

DC - Pat Scullion (Berwick Rangers)
The imposing defender won pretty much all of his aerial battles as the Borderers picked up a very impressive away victory at Peterhead. The 2-0 win moves Berwick to within a point of the Blue Toon.

MR - Scott Stewart (Airdrieonians)
The midfielder netted twice in a comfortable 4-2 win over bottom-placed Queen's Park. Stewart's first goal was particularly eye-catching, coming at the end of a very well-worked move.

MC - John McGinn (Hibernian)
Two terrific finishes from outside the penalty area had Hibs going as close as any club has managed to ending Celtic's undefeated run. Other than his strikes, McGinn was peerless in the middle of the park, staking a claim to be included in the starting XI for Scotland's crunch World Cup qualifier with Slovakia.

MC - Callum McGregor (Celtic)
Anything John McGinn can do... The energetic midfielder, just like in the 1-1 with St Johnstone earlier this season, managed to preserve his side's long undefeated streak, quickly answering McGinn's second goal with a second of his own as the two engaged in a titanic tussle at Celtic Park.

MC - Fraser Fyvie (Dundee United)
United picked up a huge win on Saturday, going to the home of promotion rivals Dunfermline and easing to a 3-1 victory. Fyvie netted goals one and three in the win, one of them a stunning strike, as the ex-Hibs man continues to get better and sharper with each week.

ML - Declan John (Rangers)
Five midfielders; 10 goals. John also got himself a double in Rangers' 4-1 triumph away at Hamilton Accies. While the Welshman may be a full-back, he is also a threat going forward.

FC - Adam Rooney (Aberdeen)
After eight games, Aberdeen are joint top of the Ladbrokes Premiership. They moved there on Saturday with a comprehensive 3-0 win over St Johnstone, thanks to Adam Rooney's hat-trick. The Irishman has had to be patient this term but showed his value on Saturday, as his predatory instincts made the difference.

FC - Mark McGuigan (Stenhousemuir)
Another place in Team of the Week for the on-fire Ochilview hitman. In a 3-0 victory over Edinburgh City, McGuigan assisted the first and netted the next two goals, as Stenny moved to within four points of Stirling Albion at the top of Ladbrokes League 2.
