Annan striker Peter Weatherson became the first SPFL player to score 20 league goals this season when he hit a hat-trick at Elgin on Saturday.
The 34-year-old former Queen of the South and Morton forward netted from almost the halfway line as Jim Chapman's men triumphed 5-4 in an incredible game at Borough Briggs.
Weatherson's tally is all the more remarkable when you consider that he only returned to the side in September after 10 months out with a serious injury.
Declan McManus, on loan from Aberdeen, scored a weekend double at Stranraer to fire Morton to the top of League 1 and take his tally for the season to 19.
Aberdeen striker Adam Rooney is the top scorer in the Premiership, with 17 goals, and Hibernian's Jason Cummings leads the way in the Championship, also with 17 goals.
