St Mirren have signed goalkeeper Jamie Langfield on a two-year deal after he ended a decade-long association with Aberdeen earlier this week.
The 35-year-old former Dundee and Partick Thistle No 1 joins up with Ian Murray's squad ahead of Saturday's home game against Dumbarton in the Ladbrokes Championship.
The Saints boss told the club website: "Jamie will compete with Mark (Ridgers) for the jersey now and is also the goalkeeping coach - we needed someone in to help Mark predominantly in that role and someone who will push him for a starting position.
“Hopefully, they can work hand-in-hand together throughout the season and be behind a defence that doesn’t concede many goals.”
