St Mirren sign striker Arquin

St Mirren have signed striker Yoann Arquin until the end of the season following his recent departure from Ross County.

St Mirren have signed striker Yoann Arquin until the end of the season following his recent departure from Ross County.

The 26-year-old was on the books of Nancy, Nantes and Paris Saint Germain earlier in his career and had spells south of the border with Hereford United and Notts County.

Arquin told the St Mirren website: "I spoke with a number of people who I trust in football and they all gave me very positive feedback about the club and the fantastic facilities they have. I am looking forward to getting started on Saturday and hopefully help the club move up the table.”

St Mirren manager Gary Teale added: "Yoann is a player that will help us in the final third with his link-up play and also to stretch teams in behind. We are hoping that with these strengths he can add much-needed goals to the side over the remaining months of the season.”

Arquin could make his Saints debut against his former club on Saturday, with the teams level on 11 points at the bottom of the Premiership and separated only by goals scored.
