Stirling Albion have made experienced midfielder Jon Paul McGovern their fourth summer signing as they bid to mount a League 2 promotion challenge.
The 34-year-old joins fellow new recruits Chris Smith, Ross McMillan and Sean Dickson at Forthbank for 2015/16 after turning down the offer of a new deal with Ayr United.
McGovern began his career with Celtic and was a League Cup winner with Livingston before spells at Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Swindon Town and Carlisle United. He also had stints with Derry City and Celtic Nation before signing for Ayr last summer.
Stirling Albion manager Stuart McLaren said: “We are thrilled to have a player of Jon Paul’s quality on board. He was the captain at Ayr United and his leadership qualities, as well as his ability to make things happen in the middle of the park, will be a real asset."
